4 years in development and testing, testing, testing have given us the go ahead to release the new versions of the free Mac Demo Version, the Professional version and the Premium version. The demo version is a trial version of the Professional version which allows you to output both SpinimageDV ( JavaScript ) and QTVR ( QuickTimeVR ) files ready for the web in about 1 minute. The Premium version allows high resolution input/output using a Hi Definition Video Camera or DSLR and also exports Flash objects.

We are currently working on “touch” output for Iphone and Android phones and plan on releasing a ” Mobile ” version of this application by the end of this year. We are looking for Iphone Developers and Android Developers to assist in developing a worthy GUI to showcase these images. The Mac Consumer version will offer options to capture standard video and output both SpinimageDV format ( JavaScript ) and QTVR and available for purchase on the online store.

Pre-orders are being accepted at until July 1st, 2010 and offer a 10% savings on software.

New turntables will also be offered on the website in 2 versions:  The IG1 and the TT300.  The IG1 is our most popular turntable and will hold up to 20 pounds.  The TT300 will handle up to 300 pounds and used for larger objects including people.

Resellers both stocking and non-stocking are needed in Europe, South America and Asia.

At first I was kind of skeptical that the product would perform as well as advertised. I mean, push a button and have a 3D image up online in 5 minutes, sounded way too good to be true. Other vendors where charging more money for similar advertised products and the cost for those other packages was way outside of my small business budget. Generally with claims such as these there’s a catch..i.e. super expensive software, limited number of images, some sort of hefty licensing agreement, hard software to use etc…but with this product there were none of these issues.

The software installed incredibily easy, recognized my camera (with the help of patch download for OS X which only took about 5 minutes to install FREE off of the vendors site) and I was off and running. I simply took my item (in this case a pendant light for a client) and placed it on the turn table (which is light weight and easy to carry around), clicked the power switch on the turntable, pointed my digital camera at a good angle to get as much of the object as possible inside of my digital camcorder viewer, and hit the ‘capture’ button on my computer. I waited 15 seconds to capture the 3D object (there is a countdown timer on the screen that lets you know when the capture process has been completed) and I was done. I could preview what the capture looked like on my screen, change some export settings (software defaults to jpg format which is convenient but you can easily modify the file to export in a number of different codecs, Sorenson included). Once I selected my desired output I selected the quality. Since I was going to publishing these on the web they had to be relatively small in file size while still showing the high quality of the product…I selected ‘highest’ from the slider bar (this was the 2nd from the highest quality setting) clicked the ‘export’ button, waiting about 4 seconds, and there was my 3D quicktime file on my desktop…I seriously couldn’t believe it was that easy.

I think this is a great product for anyone looking to take quick 3D objects for either a clients website, ebay, or really any type of site where you want to give the visitor a full idea of what it is they are purchasing.
